The 5th International Conference on Research, Science and Community Services 2026 (IC-RiCoS 2026) is a multidisciplinary scientific forum organized by the Institute for Research and Community Service, Hasanuddin University. The conference is designed to strengthen research dissemination, academic exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, scientific innovation, and community-oriented solutions addressing contemporary challenges in science, technology, society, policy, and sustainable development.
IC-RiCoS 2026 represents a broader development of the conference series previously established through the International Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development (ICESD). ICESD was first held in 2019, followed by its second edition in 2023, third edition in 2024, and fourth edition in 2025. Across these four editions, ICESD provided an important platform for researchers, academics, professionals, students, policymakers, and other stakeholders to present scientific findings, exchange perspectives, and establish collaborative networks, particularly in the fields of environment and sustainable development.
Building on this academic legacy, the 2026 conference expands its scope beyond environmental and sustainability issues and adopts the name The 5th International Conference on Research, Science and Community Services 2026. This broader identity reflects the growing need for multidisciplinary approaches that integrate research, scientific advancement, technological innovation, community services, social development, and policy perspectives.
Through its international and national conference platforms, IC-RiCoS continues the academic tradition established by ICESD while providing a wider forum for presenting research findings, discussing emerging challenges, strengthening institutional partnerships, and promoting collaboration across disciplines. The 2026 edition therefore marks both a continuation of the previous four ICESD conferences and a new stage in the development of a more inclusive and multidisciplinary scientific conference series.
